Travel question. I need your opinion. Pls help!!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm currently under AOS process and it is pending. I have 2 questions.

1. I wanna know if I can travel to Puerto Rico and come back in the US without any problem since PR is considered part of US but not a state.

2. How about going on a cruise?

Note: I applied for AP but I overstayed for more than 180days before filing AOS. I Know its no use. But I wanna know if I can go to PR without problems.

I need your opinions. Thanks!

No you can't. While PR is a territory. You need a proof of the US residence to enter back. So you will need AP or a GC to get back.

I suggest you wait your AP before travelling outside the US

no trips outside of the united states. wait until you get your permanent rasident card. then you can travel internationaly.

Of course. Traveling inside the united states is OK.

Officially a driver's license is allowed for US Citizens. I wouldn't take the chance in any other situation.

The 90-day "visitor" visa is a non-immigrant visa to enter the United States temporarily. Those planning to travel to Puerto Rico for a different purpose, such as study or temporary work, must apply for specialized visas (either an M-1 or F-1 class). A visa is not a guarantee of entry into Puerto Rico. The bearer of a visa is subject to inspection at the port of entry by U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials who have authority to deny admission (Homeland Security Advisor, La Fortaleza, P.O. Box 9020082, San Juan, PR 00902-0082 - 787-977-7730 / 7731).
