Legally, you're only obliged to make sure she doesn't become a public charge, it says in the instructions by signing the i-134/i-864 you are liable for them becoming a public charge, nothing about going back but morally if she wants to go back i would say you are liable yes

If you won't send her home, it will haunt you if ever you want to petition another fiancee in future and you can't explain where's ur ex wife's whereabouts in the US specially if she's not yet a USC.

No, you are not legally liable... but surely it would be the nice thing to do. After all, she picked up her life and moved here for you, which isn't an easy process.

I don't believe you filed AOS yet, so I doube your wife is working. So unless she has savings, it might be a bit tight for her to try to buy a ticket?

I personally would rather help her get back home than let her become public charge and have the Government after me for paying back any assistance she has to use being a public charge. As already mentioned, you are not obligated to get her back home.

What if she doesn't have money and you kick her out from home? You might not be liable to pay ticket plane to send her back to home country, but at least you can show to her that you are a real man.

Presumably he filed an affidavit of support for her and as such could be held liable if she becomes a public charge. As such, if she wants to return home, I'd buy her the ticket and be done with it. His call, though.

If the AOS is sent, but not finished (no green card) - contact USCIS to pull the 864.

Buy her the ticket if that's what she wants. A friend of mine petitioned his girl from PI she didn't even go to the interview. Unfortunately she was only after someone for money. He was supporting for the past 6 months! Crappy thing to do on her part. Good luck with your decision!

Many countries will send their own citizens back home but confiscate their passport until the costs are repaid. I read an incident about a Japanese citizen unable to afford to go home and the article mentioned that other countries do this. Unfortunately I cannot locate the article as it has been some time.
