What sort of evidence do they want? I wasn't planning on getting the ring until I arrive in the US, just can't afford it with all the other expenses right now.

I'm concerned about this.

Letter of intent is required - that should be enough.

(of course the visit info (less than 2 years) - convos/letters, pictures.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I don't know how it works there in USEM Australia but here in Manila, regular communication like screenshots of chat and webcalls and phonebills is enough.

Meeting the fiancee in person and her/his family should too accompanied by pictures (with digital date if possible). Accompany it with your passport, plane tickets and credit card statement showing your card activity in OZ.

If you could provide leasing contract with both of your names in it(as a defacto couple)is excellent evidence.

I submitted an engagement announcement with our detais to my local paper(it was free) and sent a couple of copies to A once it was published. He is using one as proof of our engagement if he is asked.

Never asked for proof of engagement.

Asked for proof of relationship yes. eg: emails, cards, letters, chat logs, phone logs, photos etc.
