Probably I will be having my interview in December, I am the wife of US citizen from India.I have been working for a Software company. Now due to different time zone it is really getting tough for me to communicate with my husband as at the time I leave my office my husband enters his office in USA so the only time left to communicate with hubby is early of the morning when I am getting ready for my office :( . I want to resign from job (also I want to spend some times with my parents before leaving for USA). I was wondering will it affect my interview in any case. I have to give a notice period of one month so in any case i will be free from my work only by the End of Nov. Please advice

If you are the beneficiary I do not think this would be a problem.The sponsor should keep their job.

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

PLEASE EDIT YOUR TIMELINE IN YOUR PROFILE SO OTHERS CAN LEARN HOW LONG EACH STEP TAKES IN THIS PROCESS

No it won't affect your interview case ... it will affect your income only..... but if your wanting to resign now and spend time with family it isnt an issue unless you need money up until the visa is in your hands...

I say that only because recently there have been several ppl on here that have booked tickets resigned from jobs only to find out they arent getting the visa within a week or two they end up on AP and then they suffer because they paid money for the tickets and dont have income for basic need living...

But like I said if your wanting to resign and spend time with your family thats different so go ahead and enjoy that time with your family.. wishing you luck and success on your interview!

No... you should be fine because all ppl coming from other countries to their spouse in USA have to resign at some point.. :) don't worry if you need this time with your family the embassy will understand.. they know your changing your life and going from your family.. this is easy to understand :) be happy and good luck!

I second the motion :thumbs:......you never know what life will throw at you......especially in the immigration path!!! Heaven forbid anything happen to your spouse but if so.....you'd be widow and unemployed. (morbid I know but stranger things have happened) Don't let go of one rung on the swing till you have the next firmly in hand!!

Your timeline shows that you sent the last document set on 9/7. What is situation regarding your case completion? Once your case is completed, you can have an estimate of when your interview date would be and plan accordingly. Yes, it is good to resign after interview.
