<br />Once they assign you a date...you can contact the consulate. You send them a nice written letter. I had one made up for my wife, but we decided that we did not want to expedite it for some personal reasons. <br /><br />If you send me a private message with your e-mail I will gladly forward it to you so you can send it right away when you get your interview date. <br /><br />I will send it to you before weekends end. I have a mid-term exam today in a few hours and have a lot of errands to take care of this weekend. <br /><br />Keep contact with me...I will try to help you out as much as I can. How there can be so much difference among different consulate of same country,

It is really a very pathetic condition for all of us.

I understand your disappoitment but if you look at the VJ reports you will observe that around 7 out of 10 candidates are from Mumbai area. Also Mumbai starts interview at 7:30 AM where as Chennai starts only at 1 PM. Finally Chennai has interviews for less number of days than Mumbai. Hopefully the new premises at Mumbai will enable them to open up more interview slots and clear more applications.

USA

01/08/13 - Approved and GC is order for production on 1/8/14

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/05/13 - NOA1 (received on 08/10/13)

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)
11/28/11 - Received Green Card (Expires on 10/30/13) - Welcome Letter on 11/17/11
10/30/11 - POE - Houston, TX

Chennai Consulate (40 days)
10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

USCIS: (92 days)

6/21/11 - NOA2 (NOA1 on 3/25/11) - took a month to get to NVC
3/21/11 - I-130 sent to USCIS Lockbox, Chicago.

counting days for interview on December 16, ohh still so much to wait

13 January 2011 became husband and wife :-)

13 April 2011 filed I-130

17 April 2011 NOA1

25 July 2011 NOA2

16 August 2011 paid bills

7 October send DS320 and Affidavit of support

20 October case complete

4 November 2011 interview date assigned

Interview in Kyiv on December 16, 2011 --- Approved and got my passport same day yeahhhhh

POE Chicago December 23

List for December 2011 Mumbai Interview is incomplete as people who got date of 30-Dec are not on the list so I guess scheduling has been done but document is not updated because there may be few more to come so there is still some outside chance for few more people to get December interview.

I did some analysis and conclusion is that Mumbai consulate will start service from good number of windows out of 44 windows available at new consulate.

Important point to note is that November didn’t have single F4 interview and December has 159 so that may explain the difference between November and December CR1 interviews.

November 2011

Total immigrant visa interview scheduled: 261

Total for CR1: 103

Total for IR1: 2

December 2011 (There few dates still left)
