Hello,

I guess I am just surrounded by bad luck.. I would like to know if somebody can provide me with some advise about my father's case...

I submitted a petition on his behalf which was approved and sent to the USA Consulate at Santo Domingo.. He was scheduled an interview for June 7th of this year.. Since everything was in order, I thought that I would have my father here the week after the interview but that has not been the case (unfortunately).

When he got to the interview, he deposited the documents, made the payments and provided his finger prints... When the consular officer call him for the interview, He was asked the following:

1) Have you ever been in the USA before? of course he has never been here or in any other country so He answered "NO"...

3) Then he was asked if he ever had any problem with the police in 2002? Again, my father has never been in jail and his police record can prove that.. He answered "NO".

The Officer then told him that they need more time to process his case and that he would be contacted by letter regarding a new interview. He got the Tedious Green Slip with the office signature as a prove that he was there... To make thing worse, the case was not put under AP until June 29 (June 7th was the interview) according to the Visa Specialist..

I freaked out and even consulted an immigration Lawyer.. I was told that I just need to wait.. It has been almost 4 months and I have yet to receive any answer. I called the visa Specialist when three months passed and was told they had not received any update from the embassy and that a request was being submitted to check on the status... Now I am waiting here to probably call back at the end of the month (4 weeks) to see if they can tell me anything...

I was in Santo Domingo and actually went to the Embassy itself and inquire and was told be a lady in one of the windows (25,26) that "they were currently working with the case" (I think that was baloney although I hope they were)but again I have not received anything... I will have my father there at the end of the month to ask again.....

Plus all of this, my Fiance case was also put on AP after her visa was approved last month (K-1)...

Can anybody give me any advise? Anyone knows how long the Embassy in Santo Domingo takes to complete the AP.. I know it may vary but this wait is killing me...

Thanks

JS

I personally think they are really backed up there...
