It ain't about feasibility. It's about the plan Mr. Cain presented. There, essentials are not exempt from the national sales tax. Labor cost isn't either. So, you pay 9% income tax and your employer will have to pay 9% on what he pays you. Of course, that's coming off your pay. So, in essence, it's a whopping 18% tax on work income. Plus a 9% sales tax on everything but used goods. What a plan.

Good grief.

Use some sense. Even if the proposal says that now (it doesn't) manufacturers will not pay sales tax on goods and services that are not end uses, just as they do not pay that to states now. Is it really so difficult to understand? Do you seriously beleive the concept cannotbe copied by the feds that is already in use in most of the states?

On the other hand employers now REALLY pay 7.65% on the money you earn in the form of payroll tax and somehow THAT is OK?

Again, as I have said, it is only with lies, distortions and omissions that people argue against the 9-9-9 plan.

My argument against it would be to eliminate the income tax portions altogether.

Currently US corporations pay the 2nd highest income tax in the world PLUS payroll taxes and that is OK. But if we reduce their income tax to about the lowest in the world and add a sales tax, it suddenly becomes such a bad thing?

How can the 9-9-9 porposal be so bad when compared to what they already have to pay? Makes no sense. The people against this act as though they do not pay any tax now.

I selfishly could live with it, though I'm not a real fan of Cain simply because I'm not going to vote for a president that helps my pocketbook and nothing else. I completely understood exactly what Romney was doing last night. I'm not a Romney fan, but I have more respect for him after seeing him tear apart Cain's plan last night. He absolutely got every poor person in America watching to recognize that not only are they not going to get their $8k refund with another $2k next year for chitlin #5, their $30k/yr income is now going to be taxed 9% (when the way they think is they get taxed nothing for making $30k with 4 kids and getting $10k/yr refund), and then they will have to pay an additional 9% on anything they want to buy which has already been taxed at 8%. Basically, he got poor people thinking that they are going to now lose their refund and be taxed 26%. Brilliant move by Romney and quite frankly it really is a raw deal for poor people, not to mention the unemployed.

Why do people think Ron Paul has no chance? Have you seen how much money he has raised in his "money bomb" that started 24 hours ago? Yeah, that's folks just like me buying a $3 bumper sticker and an $18 t-shirt. $2.25 million in 24 hours. Very impressive!

Most Americans don't, and that's why they don't care so much. When you live in the suburbs and they don't touch your life but the few times a year you head downtown to watch a professional sports game, it's almost like they don't exist.

How many people on VJ have felonies? I've seen one, and his rights have been restored so as far as the law is concerned, he's good to go.
