Young Boy Given Hormone Blockers So He Can Decide His Gender

Depends on where in California he lives. I imagine people would say something in Orange County, and some parts of San Diego, and even some parts of L.A., but not north of L.A. county.

I believe it's his failure to debate the topic on hand in a civil manor without having to go "off topic" and use personal attacks against anyone he has a hard on with.

I'm pretty liberal with this stuff but there's so much psychological stuff that determines what gender we associate ourselves with. Even if a kid this young has said he was a "girl" for so many years, an 11 year old cannot fully comprehend what is going on and how this will affect him later in life. I'm sure the parents didn't make this decision on a whim, and I hope they consulted many people before making their final decision. In the end, we can all have our own opinions on what is right or wrong here, but we are on the outside and don't know everything.

It's pretty black and white for some of us.

Age 21 to purchase booze.

Age 19 to purchase tobacco products

Age 18 to sign up and die for your country

Age 16 - 18 to get married (depending on the state you live in)

Yet an 11 year old child decides he wants to be a girl so his whatevers supply this 11 year old child with hormone blockers (pills) and start calling him "Tammy".

Is there anyone here that finds this sickening? I mean how fcked up are people these days to even debate this? Has this country gotten that screwed up? Can we possible sink any further?

This part from the OP is what has me wanting to know more about the situation. What's going on chemically in this boy's mind to make him have feelings like this. Kids don't just do this because they have two moms or two dads.

They said Thomas threatened to mutilate his genitals when he was 7, and psychiatrists diagnosed a gender identity disorder.

One year later, he began transitioning to Tammy.

After much deliberation with family and therapists, the child began taking hormone blockers a few months ago. The medication, which must be changed once a year, was implanted in the boy's upper left arm.

Tommy will continue this treatment until he turns 14 or 15, at which point he will be taken off the blockers and pursue the gender he feels is the right one. He will then either start his puberty cycle as a boy or begin making the full transition to a girl.

I'm interested also in why a seven year old child would say that (I'm sure that fact that his mom and momdad are both females doesn't have anything to do with it..duh). But it doesn't excuse the fact that this eleven year old child is being used as a lab rat.

Those two belong behind bars where they won't be allowed to use children as some twisted scientific experiment. Demented doesn't even begin to explain those two freaks.
