mine was more of a general statement as opposed to an opinion on this particular child. as well, your assessment seems a bit arbitrary-there's no guarantee whatsoever that's going to ensure he or she will automatically be instilled with a greater sense of understanding of all the informed consent issues and everything else involved at 12:01 am on their 18th birthday. and you realize most kids undergo irreversible changes during puberty, that later hormonal therapy and surgery can address but still would not be the same as never undergoing those changes in the first place. in all probability, the kid is probably followed by psych and pediatric endocrinologists, etc that have indeed already explored these issues and come up with a regimen that meets this individual's needs.
