Banks notarize any documents that is executed in their presence showing a valid ID. The notaries at UPS stores notarize any documents (copies also) sowing a valid ID at a costs.

To follow up to Navy--Hi Navy !! --notaries only certify signatures, not the contents of a letter, so as he said, so if you want something notarized, it must be signed in the presence of the notary

Maybe "always" is too strong, but I have never had a US bank turn me down, and I can assure you I was not a customer much of the time

ALL, my wife's friends write 2 letters as affidavits and we wanted to include them in the package that we are going to send today. I have been told those 2 letters need to be notarized or certified ( i don t know). Now i am confused. My wife is on her way to send the papers via USPS. Can the letters be sent without certifying them? would that be a problem ?

I see that you are preaparing to send I-130 petition. If those letters indicating that your marraige is genuine are done abroad, they need to be notarized there - meaning those need to be executed in the presence of the notary.

Since these are additional evidences being sent with I-130, simple letters are also fine.

I see that you are preaparing to send I-130 petition. If those letters indicating that your marraige is genuine are done abroad, they need to be notarized there - meaning those need to be executed in the presence of the notary.

Since these are additional evidences being sent with I-130, simple letters are also fine.

I think my wife is currently in the USPS. what if they r not notarized, will i get a RFE for those 2 simple letters from her friends, showing joyce that our marriage bring in her life?

No you won't get RFE for those - those are additional evidences of marraige. There are petitioners that just submitted the minimum required documents (copy of marraige certificate), a few phtoes and got approvals. If you can't get those notarized, no big deal.

Ouf! guys i can tell you i got married since july 30th and everyday we are trying to have those papers sent but there is always a problem. I want to inform you that today we just sent it, yeeee!!!! we sent the papers today!!!! i thank God for that. However, my wife is coming to see ( Haiti) in 2 days, we have filed the G-1145 and submitted her phone number and email to receive the notification. She gonna leave her phone in the US,and will be staying in Haiti for 17 days, how are NOA1 sent? will we receive our first case status number in the first NOA1?

you can log into uscis and register your case with an account. then you can have notifications sent to you via email or sms. have your wife's mail delivered to a safe location. you don't want to lose that 797 once you do get it.

Thank u for providing me with these information above. However, we are not far in the process we just mailed the -I-130 october 18th via USPS to chicago lockbox and they received it october 20th. We have not received any NOA1 yet. Can we still log on the USCIS even though we have no case number?
