hi all,

This morning I received this notice from CSC:

On October 18, 2011, we transferred this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to another office for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. We sent you a notice of this transfer.

Has any one gone through this. I am confused as the file was sitting at CSC for over 3 months and now this message.

Please help!!!!

Rob

I am not quite sure about that. But what I can think it was transferred to your local office for adjudication.

it has happened to people yes, it is usually to help speed up the process, if one of the processing centers is backed up they will transfer cases to other service centers that are doing well with their cases, where has it been sent to?

The adjudicator at CSC may have determined that your case warrants an interview, and your file may be getting routed through NBC to the local field office that services your area.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

Transferring from one office to another happens all the time. Nothing unusual about it. We were transferred from chicago to CSC, to Ft. Lee Mo, before coming back to NY.It did cause some small delays but everything worked out ok.

It depends on where it was sent. If it was sent to a service center, they transferred it for faster processing. If it was sent to your local office it is for your interview and you will get an appointment letter in the mail which could take any amount of time.

Yes, it happens, and happened to us. The notice doesn't name which office, but it is your local one for your jurisdiction, and you will receive a letter for an interview at your local office that will tell you the exact location soon. It doesn't mean anything is bad or wrong with your case. Our interview ended up being quick and painless and my husband was approved on the spot for his green card. Just follow all the instructions on the letter and try not to stress too much about it. Good luck!
