Construction worker who drives a pickup, drinks bud, and calls her bad names? Gee that sounds like a great guy.

Are they even any of those types left in this country? I'd like to think all of those types have been replaced with... <yawn> illegals. I already knew illegals are much better at construction, and now I guess they get brownie points for putting our wives boy toys out of the picture.

The wife usually ends up cheating on her metro sexual husband with a construction worker type of guy who drives a pick up, drinks Bud, man handles her and calls her bad names.

That is the most foolish statement I have ever seen you write. There is no logic in that. Guns create violence.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Just think of what that one little guy named David did to that big bully Goliath with a sling.

Or having to go hand to hand combat.

And now one wussy will not protect his family or even his wife from a rape. The wussy will not even want to call 911 because they may show up armed. Guess he will just watch as his loved ones are brutalized horribly. As they are I am betting they will realize they made a mistake in hooking up with such a coward.

Real men protect their loved ones.

I am about sick of parasites that benefit from my willingness to take responsibility and then go around and say we should not be allowed to protect ourselves and our families. Bite me.

What gets me is those are the same folks who complain about the budget.

If we'd only take care of our own problems we wouldn't need the government to do it for us.

you can go to a gun shop, buy a gun, walk out with it 5 minutes later, load it, put it in your belt under your shirt and go to the mall. We have virtually no crime here.

We can't do that here.

I can't ever do it anywhere since I get delayed for three days. National INSTANT background check system, my @$$. There's nothing instant about a mandatory waiting period.

If you are unarmed and someone has a gun pointed at you yeah give them what they want.. Not because of some non-violence stance but because it is your best option at the time.

I conceal my pistol right next to my wallet. I can just as easily come out with a .45 as I can with $45 bucks.

In the big picture, it'd be a lot easier to hand someone some money and let them walk away. But in the bigger picture, I'm not going to be victimized. If we don't stand on principle and fight for what's right, our country will falter.

Gary, you seem to be missing what I am saying. I think it is despicable that one human being would use a gun or violence against another. I do not depend on someone to do anything. A police "might" shoot an intruder. I certainly don't want him to, nor do I think he should. Violence is wrong. You can bash me all you want for thinking peace is always the solution, but don't ever say I depend on someone else to do what I should be doing because that is false. I do not feel I should ever use violence, nor do I want anyone to ever use violence.

I get it. You're a non-violent person.

But, when others are doing violence, are you going to simply walk away? I know you said you've previously done so and it worked out fine for you in that instance. What if it would've turned out differently?

Are you so much the pacifist that you'd simply keep walking away? Keep turning the other cheek? At what point do you attempt to save your own life or the life of those around you? Do you think God would judge you if you defended yourself by force?

I explored that quite a bit when I first started carrying a concealed weapon. I was a military guy and I never had a problem with "kill the enemy." (For the record I don't have a problem with any foreigners trying to kill our troops. If foreign troops occupied our country you bet your sweet @$$ I'd be blowing them up every chance I got.) But, when it came to "shoot the bad guy" I took a different approach. What if that man was robbing me to feed his kids? Is it still right for me to kill him over that when, in reality, it doesn't hurt me to give him $50?

The religious aspect that I discovered was God didn't say "thou shalt not kill" God said, "thou shalt not murder." There's a huge difference between killing and murdering. I also found evidence of God bestowing upon us the responsibility to protect the life that He's blessed us with and also those dear to us. He gave us those gifts. It's our job to protect them. Basically, if we don't protect what He's given us... we're not respecting his generosity.

Guns create violence.

If guns create violence then pencils create misspelled words.

Never. Absolutely.

Physical abuse, violence, murdering, killing, injuring, using force to protect oneself, etc. Any way you slice it, they are all wrong.

Ready,

I have never before heard such a load of horses**t as you have stated here. I will respect your right to be a pacifist but I want to consider some things first.

Freedom has never and will never be free. It must be fought for everyday by one's actions and thoughts. When you give up your right to think and decide for yourself and give that away to another person, you are no longer free.

When you refuse to defend yourself or your family you are saying that the other person's right to life is greater than your own. This does not make you free, but instead makes you a slave. It shows that you do not value your life or your loved one's lives. In this I do not feel sorry for you, but for your family who may look to you for protection I am deeply sorry for.

Before you say anything I will let you know that I am a peace loving person and do not own a gun. I will give over my money without any violence if it is only my life at risk. But if someone puts my family in harm's way I will still give over my money, but they better kill me because if they do not I will hunt them down and have their guts for garters.

Freedom is free, unless you act agressively toward someone and then they want to take away your freedom. If one minds their own business and treats everyone with kindness then there is no reason to believe that freedom is not free.

Where are you getting this belief?

How are you justifying it as being "wrong?"

There are folks out there who do not treat everyone with kindness. Are you saying we should just let that run it's course?

It's been there from the beginning. I'm simply engaging because it gives us an excuse to talk about guns.

works for me ... let's talk guns

i've also thought (since the beginning) ...

that when RTDI discovers a perpetrator working on his wife ... he will simply ask the perp ... "is assistance needed" or "let me know when it's my turn" .....
