I didn't even watch the video as I do not like to hear about violence. Assuming the intruders were killed, the boy who pulled the trigger should be convicted of murder, no questions asked. It's the only way to stop someone from unnecessarily using a weapon.

Sh*t happens. Call the police and get out of danger's way. i.e. Exit the back and go to a neighbor's home to keep yourself safe. When civilians try to start taking the law into their own hands, the whole system falls apart. If you don't have faith in your local police department to come to your aid quickly, then move.

I don't believe in violence under ANY circumstances. I have no problem with a person trying to defend themself if it can be assured that they will not harm the person that they are trying to defend themself from. More than often, that is not an outcome that is possible. It's always best to turn the other cheek or walk away from danger, violence, etc.

Can you just answer this for me... how do you run from a guy who is raping your wife? How do you turn the other cheek?

But the problem I have with that type of thinking and people that feel the way you do, it is precisely people of that mindset that vote for laws that restrict my right to defend myself. Or that vote for politicians that do their bidding and take away my right to defend myself.

I agree. Had the child not whipped out a pistol, he would be now candyless. The Sockpuppet poster 'Ready-to-do-it' should be a happy-camper as no violence was done upon the candy-jacker.

I do have to say that I think the boy's parents should be punished. He should have never pointed an empty gun at someone.....the clip should have been in the gun.

I have to agree with you. She is damn lucky that was South Carolina, if she pulled that here in Los Angeles, that 10 year old would have smoked her, then taken her candy.

She does it in South Carolina and she lives to call it a joke. If she did here in LA, she gets a ride to the morgue, courtesy of the LA County Coroner.

Hopefully my wife will never be in a position where she will be raped. However, if it did occur or even if "I" was held against my own will, raped by some loony, etc. revenge isn't the solution. Justice, via the law, is the solution.

No worries regarding my vote to take away your rights. By choice, this will be the first election I have ever voted in. I'll be voting for Ron Paul. One of the main reasons is because he gets it both on the economic front and on the war front. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to die, EVER! Those are the 2 concerns I have had for many, many years and no other politician seems to get it, nor have they in the past.

That's just such a hillbilly mentality. Seriously, that is exactly the way a poorly raised, uneducated hillbilly thinks. I'd like to think that uneducated folks really don't have any say in the matter. Really? It's not ok for people to joke around? I.e. I'm going to steal your candy, little boy. But it's ok for a 10 year old to have a gun? And you wish the gun would have been loaded? God help us. What has happened to folks in this country. Guns kill. You do understand that, correct? Thou shall not kill. I'm not sure what your religion is, but I just don't think there is a religion on earth that says a 10 year old boy should kill someone over a bag of candy... or for any reason. And if you have no religious affliliation, hopefully you at least were taught some sort of morals growing up. What you have posted is just despicable. Myself, nor my children, even knew what a gun was at the age of 10.
