Wow! I’m on information overload! :wow: I hope I’m in the right forum here. Please redirect me, if I’m not.

I married my husband in Tunisia last month. Now I’m filing the I-130 for him and have a few questions.

Part B

Line 1 - do I use my new married name or my previous name. All ID is still in my old name including passport, DL, SSN, etc.

Line 6 – regardless of which name I use, I still check married, correct? (sorry, but I’ve found the dumbest question is the question not asked)

Line 10 – I obtained citizenship through Naturalization (that number is asked for in Line 13); do I also need to list my old Alien Registration number here?

Part C

Line 20 – my husband’s native alphabet is Arabic. Luckily, I speak, read and write Arabic. But what if I didn’t? Would I leave that line blank, or…..?

For all lines on the I-130, if something does not apply to either myself or my husband, do I leave the line blank, write N/A, or draw a line through that part?

Almost finally, I am also filing the G-325A bio forms for both of us. It asks for our signatures. He’s in Tunisia. How can I get his signature on his bio form? Can I sign his for him? (naturally, in Arabic)

And FINALLY, I will be filing for the K3 as soon as I hear the I-130 has been accepted. How long does it take for the K3? (ballpark)

Thanks so much for any help!

Read carefully, interpret literally and then respond accurately. When asked for a name in the present tense, give your current legal name. So, if your name changed when you married....

There are no shortcuts. Fill out the forms completely. When his signature is asked for, he will physically sign it. You don't forge his signature.

It's actually acceptable to write or type "Will sign at Consulate" on the foreign spouse's G325a but since unless you already have his 2" X 2" passport photo on hand, he might as well sign and mail the photo and G325a in the same package. Email him the completed form to print and sign.

You're not an alien anymore but you DO have an alien number. See sentence one of my reply above.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
