I read that the DS-157 only has to be filled out by males between a certain age. I am a 21 year old female so I'm not sure if this has to be done for the K-1??

My fiancee who is 21 as well was required to fill out the DS 157 for the Islamabad embassy. If it says that its required for packet 3 then i`d go ahead and fill it out

You need to read your instructions from the London website, not VJ members from other countries.

London says--

Step One

Complete the Form DS-230-Part 1, Form DS-156 and DS-157 for each family member applying for a visa. In addition, the principal applicant is also required to complete form DS-156K. Note: Forms DS-156 and DS-157 must be completed in duplicate.

That means you will do I-157 regardless of age, sex, etc. if you apply in London.
