That price tag is so high because people who take their cat to get x-rays and IV drips obviously are irrational. They're easy prey. I remember having that argument with my ex-wife who spent some $400.00 at the vet for some treatment of a $20.00 rabbit which kicked the bucket all the same.

Dude its my cat! I'm not going to let her die because I'm cheap.

It's a cat, for crying out loud. If the animal suffers, do the decent thing and have the vet put it to rest. That should be $50.00 or less. Then go and grab a new cat. There are plenty of them around. New and used. Either way, the next one will be YOUR cat, too. Seriously.

No emotional attachment to animals I guess?

You don't carry auto insurance?

If it wasn't mandatory, I probably wouldn't have it.

It is still one of the world's best military. Take some pride in your country.

We could get a lot more bang for our buck. The military is grossly inefficient.

Individual I would presume. I don't have health insurance for my cat. She was ill about 2 years ago right before Christmas and a couple of X-rays and an IV drip for 6 hours cost over 1000.

Basically, in the 1980s a law was passed that gave everyone a right to live by receiving ER care if in danger, but it provided no way to pay for it. They corrected that recently.

By your own argument, you're not being responsible for your cat. What's the difference between you not having insurance for your cat and me not having insurance for myself?

My wife is pretty easy in that regard. She'll take it once or twice, but if the animal doesn't look like it's going to pull through.... "you have a .45. Why we waste all this money on animal?"

Yep.

Of course. That's why I wouldn't let an animal suffer.

Um they'll euthanize my cat and they'll keep you alive?

Would you prefer they euthanize you instead?

I think he would. He did say he wanted to be taken to a slim-world public hospital that kills patients.

So, you ARE purchasing a product from a private company because the government says you have to.

I choose to own a car. I don't have to. If I choose not to own one, I can opt out of getting car insurance.

I cannot opt out of owning my body.

Additionally, car insurance is a state thing, the healthcare is a federal thing. The federal government should have no part in things like that.

Um they'll euthanize my cat and they'll keep you alive?

Would you prefer they euthanize you instead?

So your beef is not with me. It's with the laws keeping people alive?
