Hi! I hope that someone can help me with advice...My husband and I started the visa process in May, and we have recently been notified that the case is COMPLETE at the NVC. It was completed on October 7, 2011. Now, the only thing we are waiting for is for the interview to be scheduled. The consulate is Dar Es Salem, Tanzania. I was told that October and November are at capacity, making it a minimum of 3 more months---the NVC cannot even guarantee a December interview.

We have a 6 month old infant daughter, who is living with me, as I work full time. I am missing my husband so much, and the thought of an additional 3 months ( minimum) is almost unbearable. My daughter is growing up without her dad!

Your help would be so appreciated!!!

Thanks-

The only thing you can do really is to learn to endure. The immigration system could care less about the child or the impact on it or you for that matter. Harsh but true. If this is just too much to bear you could move to Tanzania to live with him until he interviews in January or when ever they have a date open.

Yes, I am learning how to go on with the wait, and just keep telling myself that this is only a SHORT part of our marriage...but it is still hard. Moving to Tanzania with an infant doesn't look like the best idea for the health of our child (Malaria and yellow fever are a few diseases there).

I was just curious to see if anyone else had a similar situation.

Thanks,

You take the interview date you get and live with it but the interview will be for a CR1 visa, not K3. Why are you posting in the K3 forum?

Thanks,

Everybody who ever petitioned for a spouse visa had a similar situation. It's a tough stretch, then it's over.
