Traveling abroad Before having AP Travel Document

Hi -- we have our AOS packet recently submitted (after K-1 Visa and getting married), including EAD for work and AP for travel.

My wife wants to travel to England and Spain to visit her family BEFORE actually receiving the AP travel document,

intending to stay until she has it in hand to return (I would obviously get it to her when it arrives) -- ever heard of anyone doing this, or know if this should work OK?

Don't do it. If your wife leaves she will forfeit her AOS and you will have to start the process all over again (except as CR1).

She has to stay in the US until she gets Advanced Parole. You Might want to read through the FAQ's:

Do not attempt it. As soos as she cross the border she will loose everything and you will have start over again.

DON'T DO IT!!! Do you really want to risk her not returning. Just wait a couple of months. Our AP came back in just 2 months.

Bad idea. CBP might match up the dates and see she left early. Even if they don't, sometimes cases move quickly and so you can end up with an interview before receiving AP or an EAD. If that happened, she would not be able to return for her interview and you'd have forfeited your money and case and she'd have to stay abroad and file for a CR-1.
