We have been searching Airline tickets and thanks to Canadian in GA she has given me some amazing sites to find good deals! But We notice that the one way ticket is about 200 more or so than the Round trip ticket. If we bought a round trip ticket is it any problem for Bahadir when he goes through Immigration at POE? Is it ok to buy roundtrip ticket?

Thanks guys!

Michele

I think it's still cheaper to buy a RT, even if you don't use the 2nd leg (the return). I know that Selvi and Mark did that when she came over last spring and a few others too. Buzz up KD and Melbar, they might have done same.

Yes I have seen this mentioned before - it is not a problem at POE. If asked, you can just tell them it was cheaper, but I'm sure they're aware. The airlines also know it happens a lot and its not a problem for them either - so you might as well save some money. The cheaper the return ticket, the more restrictions there are such as high fees for any date changes etc. but since you are only using the first coupon that shouldn't be an issue.

Some airlines charge 1/2 the price of a round trip when you go one way. Two I know of and have used are Air Berlin and Southwest Airlines. If you MUST buy a RT put it for as far in the future that you can, maybe you will want to visit or go back for something you forgot. :-)

I wish i could find a 1 way 1/2 the price of the roundtrips. He is flying form turkey and every flight we have found out of there is at least $200 more for 1 way. I wish I could find that!!!!

I bought one way ticket 1/2 than what the round trip would cost me. I bought it through my agent, flying with US Airways.

Kayak tells me that IST to DUS is $92 on Turkish Airlines, and DUS to Fort Myers on Air Berlin is $371. I picked December 6 at random. That's less than $500.

I wonder with taxes how much those are? I will have to check out Kayak! My friend has given me sites and have found great prices just wondering if the cheapest flight i can find is a roundtrip would that cause any problems. We too are buying last minute because we will buy a ticket for the next available flight out of istanbul! We know we will spend a pretty penny but a year apart is enough! He would get on plane that night he got the visa....We are hoping that he can fly out at least by November 7th/8th because our anniversary is the 9th of November and our wedding is loosely setup for the 19th of november (his birthday) ...thanks guys for the info! I will check with agents too!!! Thats a good idea!

Some places say the flight is $100 but add $900 in taxes, it is really crazy how they work at times. I have found the same sight cheaper when bought from a UK link at times, and cheaper from a US link at times. That $92 is not found on 11/7 but keep looking and be flexible. Remember to look at individual hops and not the entire route to save some money.

Buy the cheapest; it doesn't matter to Immigration.
