Hello VJers!:)

We are having AOS interview tomorrow in San Diego, and we are wondering what kind of questions they may ask, and what to expect in general.

I have found this page with some sample questions;

http://www.visajourney.com/content/exampleq

and AOS interview tips on this thread;

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/154623-aos-interview-tips-for-those-with-upcoming-interviews/

Is there any other things we should know prior to the interview?

Any advise and thoughts are very appreciated!

One thing I remember from my K-1 visa interview in Japan is that when they asked when we met in person for the first time, since it is over 5 years ago, I said, "um, 2005 or 2006" and the officer said "which one? you need to pick one." with a suspicious face expression.

I honestly didn't remember the exact day or time. I can't even remember what we ate for lunch two days ago. (haha!)

Well, my husband and I think that we should just show up there and be ourselves. There's nothing to hide, if we don't know / can't remember, that's us. We are kind of punk rock about that, but it's great to know what you all think and what you suggest us do so that we can at least prepare...

Thanks everybody!

Best of luck in your interview neko!

Honestly I think the basics you linked should cover the interview process. Beyond that, I would agree that you should just show up there and be ourselves.

Also, do your best not to trigger any fraud referrals. ;)

We were friends before, but we had our first official date in a restaurant near Kabukicho so it's hard to forget that more interesting part of town. :lol:

Anyhow good luck again. I'm sure everything will be great!

Hi Yagisama,

Thank you so much! The interview itself was super short and actually really fun.

The officer who took care of our case said congratulations and we can expect to receive the card in mail in two weeks, but then she goes, 'Oh no...'

She said she need her supervisor to review her notes and everything and he will make the final decision, and he will be back from vacation next week. (which makes three weeks until receiving a green card)

She smiled and said 'Well, you are almost approved!':)

After a month, we didn't receive anything, so we called them, and they told us to wait a little more.

We even visited the field office with info pass to see what's going on and again, then told us to wait a little more... (They said the officer may be a little behind. haha)

But finally, we received an email notification yesterday, that says the card is being produced now:)

Hi Neko!

Sorry I missed your reply before. It's great that everything worked out! And it's especially awesome that the interview was actually fun! Too bad about the wait but it's great that the card has been produced now.

We're getting ready for the interview now. We'll get to use the AP card right before the interview as we will come back from Tokyo a couple days before the interview! :energy:
