What preparation can I begin for the medical examination. Anyone who went to mumbai for their medical? What documents do we need to carry? Also most importantly what is the nature of this examination?

Guys please can anyone tell me what all did you carry for the medical exam? Did you take vaccination records? Are we supposed to take any reports done on us previously?

I am not sure if Mumbai has different requirements but we all need to take the following to the medical. You need to schedule an appointment with the physician or hospital.

  1. Interview letter
  2. Copy of bio-graphic pages (first two and last two) of passport.
  3. 3 passport photos
  4. Immunization and medical condition records, if any (if you don't have any vaccination records, they will give 3 vaccinations).

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)

10/30/11 - POE - Houston, TX

Chennai Consulate (40 days)
10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

USCIS: (92 days)

6/21/11 - NOA2 (NOA1 on 3/25/11) - took a month to get to NVC
3/21/11 - I-130 sent to USCIS Lockbox, Chicago.

Yes and yes. They are looking for specific communicable diseases. The blood tests and X-ray are specifically looking for the following:

1. Tuberculosis

2. Syphilis

3. Chancroid

4. Gonorrhea

5. Granuloma Inguinale

6. Lymphogranuloma Venereum

7. Hansen's Disease (Leprosy)

In addition, vaccinations for the following may be required if you cannot show proof that you have already had them, although many are waived depending on age.

1. Mumps

2. Measles

3. Rubella

4. Polio

5. Tetanus

6. Diphtheria

7. Pertussis

8. Haemophilus influenzae Type B

9. Rotavirus

10. Hepatitis A

11. Hepatitis B

12. Meningocococcal disease

13. Varicella

14. Pneumococcal pneumonia

15. Influenza

Yes, blood tests and X-rays are part of the medical. The medical report (sealed cover) that you will submit at interview will contain those details. The consulate will return the X-rays to you. The Vaccination sealed packet is for the POE (entry to USA).

hi tphatak you gat Interview letter how you know your case left from nvc my case completed 31 august stii nvc and not yet interview date

Your case can not be transferred to the consulate until the interview date is finalized and interview letter is sent to you.

Waiting period depends on the clinic/ hospital but it is mostly 2 - 3 days. It is 1 day at Apllo Hospital, Chennai and 2 - 3 days with Dr. Songa, Hyderabad. Which hospital/ Clinic are you planning to go!

I am trying to schedule my medical at Lilavati hospital but they say the number is not correct. Has anyone faced a similar problem? The numbers I have are : 26455918 (direct), 26421111 (Ext. 2074)

Anyone has any other number.
