Need some definite advice from the experts on these couple of questions. I know answers my vary depending on Embassy (I m the beneficiary and live near London). We've received the

NOA2 and are awaiting its arrival at NVC. These questions have arisen from looking at forms etc in readiness for filing them

1)I have an elder daughter who is nineteen and at university. She has chosen not to come (except for great holidays!), and to likely stay on to do post grad. i.e if she did follow, it'd be in about five/six years time. As such I have listed her as 'under 21' and my child but on the forms felt weird about suggesting she'd be following on as the chances are, she won't be, though secretly, I hope she will and think she might, but again...not for years. This raises a question for my partner though when filling out the Affadavit of Support. Does he need to do a form for her because she is my daughter and under 21, even though she will not be residing with us? He seems to think the form 'wants' him to do one for her but it seems likely to not make sense to.

2)I have all of my certificates ready for asking (apart from the affadavit!), by fiancee is unsure if, like me with the Embassy, NVC are suddenly going to ask him to provide original marrigae certifivcates as well as divorce ones (for himself), before they pass it to the embassy. He was married twice and has one certificate, but the other (from the eighties) he does not have. Shoudl he be attempting to get hold of this now?? Will NVC even ask for it?

3)Does anyone know of a link whereby it takes you to a place you can download any forms the NVC might require if him now, or documentary evidence he needs to get (if any). A fellow VJer kindly gave me my embassy link and it had EVERYTHING to help me prepare. Just wondered if a packet still exists for him to complete before it gets passed to London.....we'd rather be prepared :)

Thanks very much for taking time out to read this....any help gratefully accepted

Also in the NOA2 it says the approval notice is valid from when filed to the 6th February. Should I take this to be some kind of guide for when they expect to be done by and have issued visa within or on this date?? Does anyone here have a feel for what this date might infer in terms of processing times?? Thanks :)

For a K1, nothing is requested by the NVC---no forms, no documents. It is merely a handoff from USCIS to the Dept of State. In most K1 cases it is only there for around 3 days while they assign your new DOS case number and forward the file to the embassy. They don't even enter your case into the automated database like they would for spouse visas IR1/CR1. That doesn't mean every single K1 case is only there 3 days because delays happen and bottlenecks occur at any point of the process.

Thankyou for your reply...so to clarify, my fiance doesn't need to send original documents of his own to the U.K for me to hand in anywhere??

He sends an original (with his signature in ink) Form I-134 Affidavit of support. He sends two proofs if his income. If he chooses (as one proof) to have his employer write a letter stating his employment details and current salary, then that letter should be an original on company letterhead with an original ink signature. If he chooses to use his tax return, photocopies suffice. He can order tax transcripts right now for free from the IRS. He doesn't have to wait around for your interview before he gets these things collected and mailed over to you.

For the interview, read the list of what London wants here http://london.usembassy.gov/interview_documents.html

Notice it doesn't say USC's birth certificate or divorce decrees, or the NOA2 approval notice, or a copy of your I129F petition, or proof of your relationship. That list is really all the evidence they require and it's all about the Brit at the embassy.

That's great to hear and btw, thanks for the nice and concise write up of it. Its what I had hoped for and all of those financial forms are being completed this week and sent on their way. NVC aren't even registering as having received the case yet so we should be fine for timing (noa2 was 07th oct).
