I can totally recommend volunteer work for the time until we get our EADs.

It's so interesting to see all the responses!

I say that because I am proud and happy homemaker. I've worked my whole life and this is the best "job" I've ever had! I love taking care of my house and my husband. And believe me, I feel like I work more hours than he does!

I been remodelling the house, surfing the internet, and caring for our many rescue animals. Would love to do volunteer work- but alas I cant get a drivers license until I have my EAD and can get a SSN.

So been very bored- but EAD is on its way- wooooo!

Yeh, we already worked something out because we think it's going to drive Rey crazy to be here with nothing to do!

We found this organization that matches IT professionals with nonprofits to help them out, so he'll probably do that.

Although, we're REALLY hoping for the JFK EAD stamp.

Are you sure??

I got my driver's license when I visited the US on a B2 visa.

I wonder if they have changed the law.

Yup. It varies state to state. I cant get my temp license till I have a SSN- which I cant get till I have my EAD! Then I have to do all the drivers tests etc again- even though I know how to drive!!! :crying:

What state were you in when you got yours? I could drive for 30 days after I arrived, but then I needed to get a license.

Well...I just kinda do the chores - cleaning, laundry, cooking etc but i think i pretty much suck at it!!! I'm tryin though! I actually play on the internet, watch trashy tv, pop out to the shops etc and spend the hour before roshon comes home doin the chores so I can act like i've been at it all day ;)

We just got a puppy....so she is most definately keeping me amused!!

Oh and I enjoy an afternoon nap!!! I'm really lookin forward to earning money so we can do more fun stuff!! Oh and then I get to give him some chores :P

Sammy, it just has to be said... your wedding photo there is beautiful!! :luv::yes::thumbs:

I've been looking at the kinda places in advance where I can help out, of course times will be subject to what SOs family can help me with in regards to driving. There's quite a few places in Decatur for volunteer work, but also Atlanta Zoo! That would be cool if I could help out there.

I cook, go grocery shopping, clean, do laundry, read, go to the beach, swim, hike, drive around, watch TV, watch movies, play with our cat. I haven't been bored yet. And now that wedding is over, I am working on AOS papers. There is always something to do.
