I know this may be a stupid question, however, i am seeing that some K-1 petitioners posted that their interviews were set by the NVC for their interview at the consulate. However, I am wondering how it works for interviews for the visa's in Nigeria. Are they set by the NVC and interview dates given when called?, or once we have a case number, do we call the embassy and set the interview ourselves, or wait for an interview date from them? Forgive me, if this has been answered numerous times before, I just can't seem to find the information anywhere. Thanks

Once your petition gets to Nigeria it will take about 2-3 weeks before they have an interview date. As soon as it is in the computer NVC can see what is in the computer. I found them much more helpfull than the consulate

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

The NVC is always the people that makes the appointments. They can even tell you when/if the petition was received by the consular abroad.

NVC handles immigrant visa appointments and the embassy handles non immigrant. Just like NVC collects the AOS for immigrant visas. K1's are non immigrant and are handled by the embassy
