AOS and affidavit of support

Hi all!

My WIFE :) and I got married a few weeks ago. She arrived here on the K1 Visa in Aug, and it wouldn't have happened with out all the the VJ guidance and support. Thanks!

Now we are looking at filing the Adjustment of Status paperwork.

I understand that the affidavit of support holds much more weight for the AOS than it does for the K1 visa.

My worry is, I graduated college a year ago, and since then have had 3 different jobs.

I have held my current job for about 3 months and am making $35K/yr.

So, although I have the last three years of tax returns, they won't show a history of significant earnings (mainly just part-time jobs throughout school).

I know, I know, when in doubt get a "co-sponsor". But it's not an option.

What can I do? Do you think we would get approved in my current situation? Do I need to wait until I have a much more impressive work history?

Waiting on the AOS gives us two problems, one is my wife can't work and she's stuck in the house and money is tight. The other is we want to go back to Peru to visit sooner rather than later.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated :)

Current and continuing income of $35K is plenty for a household of two. File away.

So it won't matter that I've only been there for a few months?

Only the adjudicating officer can give you the definitive answer. There is nothing negative about starting a new job along your career path. Should not be a problem.
