Do biometrics again?

I entered the US by K1 visa and am a 2-year GC holder. To remove condition, I did biometrics in June.

However, last week I received the same NOA telling me to do biometrics next week. (Okay, not the same... this time it is I-797, last time it was I-797C, but the content is the same - another confusion there!)

How is that possible? Did anyone need to redo the biometrics for any reason?

Yes it happens. Our son had to. It is possible the fingerprints were not usuable for one reason or another.

You see it mentioned here occasionally and it is not rare, actually.
