State Immigration Laws

I would assume this is just me being paranoid. But it seems that a lot of people have sent in their petitions after I did and have gotten approved already, I'm still waiting.

Is it possible that because of Utah's (where I'm living) strict immigration laws, our paperwork will be affected and take longer?

Things have been very difficult for me while we've been waiting....

I got my NOA-1 on June 28th.

I'm trying so hard to be positive, but I'm wearing thin.

Thanks.

Dani

State laws or attitudes towards immigration, should have no effect on how the petition is processed. Be patient, if you noticed, there are more petitions in June and July then most other months. I know the wait is difficult but, I am sure you should see some action soon.

No, it is not possible. Utah does not have "immigration laws". They may have strict laws enforcing US IMMIGRATION laws but states do not have the authority to make immigration laws and Utah has no international borders anyway. Any such laws would apply to illegal aliens, which your fiance/spouse is not.

USCIS could not possibly care less what laws of any type Utah has.
