Hi All,

I came to the US on Sep 24th and we got married on Sep 29th. Last week we applied for EAD and AOS, the question that I have is regarding time - how much time does it take to get both approved. I am little anxious because I have to go back home for my sister's wedding and we cannt fianlize a date till the time I know by when will I be able to return home. Also, my employer has agreed to transfer me from India to the US, however I have to inform them about the time by which my EAD will be approved. My lawyer said that they cannot give an estimate about how much time it will take.

I will really appreciate if someone can share their experience.

Thanks

Really depends on which city you live in and if there is an USCIS office near-by. The EAD card took 46 days from submission to receive and the GC took 96 days to have in hand. That was for Denver earlier this year. You might try looking at Ijor's list for your city to get an idea of how things have gone historically. I've found that we have been in line with most of the estimated time lines, but keep in mind that it is only an estimate based on historicaly data and things change within the USCIS. I would say any where from 2 to 4 months with an average time of about 3 months for the GC.

Good luck,

Dave
