Interview in 10 days. AP sitll NOT recieved!! (was approved weeks ago)

Oh my god! I have been waiting for my AP since June!

I had to leave the country for work but I couldn't and now that my interview is in 10 days so there is no point for me to leave even if I get my AP tomorrow.

So my question is... can I leave the U.S. after my interview without my AP even though it's approved?

If so, do I still need some sort of documentation?

My husband will meet me overseas in a month so I will have my green card to come back.

p.s. just to clarify, I did get my EAD card, but the card says not valid for reentry to U.S.

Timeline:

F1 student since 2004

05/06/11 Got Married to a US citizen

06/09/11 USCIS received my applications for Change of Status, EAD and AP

June/July-ish USCIS received missing documents from me

07/13/11 Biometric Appointment done

07/27/11 OPT ended

09/22/11 Notice received: Interview scheduled for 10/25

09/23/11 Notice received: EAD card in production

09/26/11 Notice received: AP approved

10/03/11 EAD card received in mail

You can leave after your interview IF you are approved on the spot AND the IO is willing to give you a 551 stamp in your passport to allow you to leave. Otherwise, you need to wait for your green card, which takes around 10 days from when you get a notice of production.

Also - if you are not approved on the spot/can't get the stamp and really need to leave, consider scheduling an Infopass appointment and asking if they can give you some sort of AP documentation so you can leave.
