This guy echoes a lot of my thoughts on Russia and the perception of corruption. It's true that you can 'buy' a lot of things in Russia. And the laws do change sometimes and aren't always enforced the same (kind of like a certain visa process we are all familiar with). But if you understand and learn about the rules and process and make sure your ducks are in a row you shouldn't have to buy anyone off.

I like how people stay positive. Seems those who make 100 million dollar investments are pretty good at it.

Ensure your beneficiary makes and brings with them to the States a copy of the DS-3025 (vaccination form)

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

But which is the cause and which is the effect? Is he good at it because he is making 100 million dollar investments or is he making 100 million dollar investments because he is good at it? Almost certainly the latter. I'm not trying to say that Russian bureaucracy is easy to navigate or trivial or that there aren't people soliciting bribes. But in my experience bribes are more often used when someone can't be bothered to work their documents or situation out in the actual correct way.

We often drive through the "nice neighborhood" around here and there are many folks jogging. I often wonder aloud, "are they jogging because they're successful people and have time to jog... or are they jogging because they're the type of person that makes time to jog and, as such, have become successful?"

Actually, I have wondered about the same thing. It makes me want to start jogging, but I don't know if that will make me successful. At least I will be in better shape.

Most likely the latter imo.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!

The majority of successful people are in pretty decent shape.

Most likely the latter imo.

I believe so too. Go getters tend to do well at many things.

My sister and brother in law live in one of those neighborhoods in Anchorage...total yuppie with bike trails etc.. You see the hot trophy wives jogging with those sports shirts (worth the look) and then you have those soccer moms pushing the strollers wearing their Eddie Bauer clothes while holding some bs latte from Starbucks. It's like those people never discovered satellite TV.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

I'm honestly confused. What has satellite TV got to do with this?

People with satellite tv and net have too much to do other than jogging, walking, and stuff like that. Football on the tube with a beer in the hand > any kind of yuppie exercise.

*throw porn in with that also.

Pit bulls are hood dogs. Only people on section 8 can afford $2,000 puppies.
