I say make a deal with Southeast Asian countries regarding the oil in Spratly's. It is said to be larger than what Kuwait drills. After all, they're more friendly to us than the Middle East is. The only problem though is China will be saber rattling because they claim the whole South China Sea which pisses off its southern neighbors.

Catch an insurgent? Execute him, his wife and his little kids. Bulldoze his parents' house.

That's the kind of language these animals understand. Saddam was fluent - there weren't any insurgents running around and blowing stuff up under Saddam.

Maybe Mr President can persuade Europe and India, but Russia and China? They'd likely team up with Tehran over Washington.

mawilson is right. i hate the fact that we spend so much money on a military that gets to spend money and blood on doing traditional-military things like invading and occupying and bombing and torturing but doesn't get to reap any traditional-military benefits like slave women and plundered natural resources.

the only part of that i'm kidding about is the slave women, and that too only when cnn is watching.

Even with "cowboy" Ronnie in WH, war with Iran has been avoided for 30 years. Perhaps that was Jorge Jr's idea behind invasion of Iraq (he could box in Iran from two sides--one side, Afghanistan, where US troops already were by then)--but that hasn't worked for 8 years as of date.

We could just tell the Canadians in Afghanistan that there was a Tim Hortons in Iraq! Job done!
