If I understood your first post correctly, the school just made a mistake on your I-20 and typed in a wrong date. If that is the case, they just need to update the information in SEVIS and print you a new I-20, that's all.

Thats exactly what has been told to OP in post #3 :)

It seems OP is getting some run around from the front desk staff trying to cover their mistake.

So stupid. I used to work for the international student services office of my university, and updating the info on SEVIS and printing our a new I-20 is the simplest thing in the world for an ISS advisor or whoever it is at that particular school that deals with these things.

Emily, if this really was just a typo mistake, then you absolutely should not leave the US because of this in the middle of your studies. If they are telling you that, it's total BS. It's not even that big of a mistake, it happens all the time - and it is very simple to fix.

Yep I agree with you, been working with Univ in my school days as well I know this is the simplest thing and they can fix it right away.

Instead they are making it sound as so big deal and they took I-94 from OP and all that is unnecessary drama.

Actually i know what you mean. but the staff in drexel university told me it is very difficult to deal with this problem. and i need to appeal for reinstate my student status and she cann't guarantee the government will approve my appeal. so i am worried about it now. i hope it can be resolved as soon as possible.

Did you talk to DSO?

Talk to your international advisor and not the front desk ppl who work in the office.

It has been their mistake to begin with since they issued you a i-20 with wrong dates.

I am not sure why Drexel is making it so difficult, but its clearly their error which they need to fix and there is nothing you should be required to do.

excellent news.

Did you speak to the DSO , or not ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
