But that is where the problem lies. We don't want them to go home. We need them as consumers and can you imagine what 5 million more foreclosures will do, not to mention all the car loans etc. Hispanics are far and away the BEST financial investment from a lender's standpoint when comparing consumers in the bottom 80%. The majority of illegals are hispanics. Can banks afford for millions of their best paying clients (outside the top 20%) to default on all their loans? Have you thought about the consequences that will put on you and I. Yep, the burden will always fall on the tax-payer, one way or another. We don't want them going home, trust me.

If what you say is true (and I have a VERY hard time believing that).....I sy we should send all these illegals to the Occupy Wall Street protest, so they can teach those Americans how to be successful in this economy. Everyone else is apparently doing it wrong!

Does he not realize that he said we need them because businesses can't afford to pay a fair wage as we would to a UCS or LPR? He's afraid of HIS prices going up.

So let's be charitable and fight for the plight of the illegal worker. /sarcasm

I'm betting he/her has an illegal or two that they are involved with. The only time I see that poster post anything on here are these threads that deal with illegal immigration.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Uhmmm... there's no protest because it is another myth. You guys assume that illegal aliens get paid under the table, unfair wages, etc. The wages are what the market bear and NONE of them make below minimum wage so you have no argument. They're only exploited if they don't think their wages are fair, and if they don't think their wages are fair then they wouldn't be doing the work.

It's the media, lawyers, and folks like you who go crying that they are being exploited etc. Learn the facts. I've never heard an illegal say they are being exploited. Many of them make well over $20/hr. The "few and far between instances" where, yes, maybe they get paid under the table (which would be wrong) they still get paid $80 to $100 for a days work. Yes, it does happen but it is much less common than you think. All this non-sense about companies not wanting to pay payroll taxes, insurance, etc is just so miniscule.

Like we're supposed to care about any business who hires illegals because they can't pay a fair wage? They're exploiting workers for their own profit.

Where's the protest for THAT?

I support the Dream Act and easier avenues for our neighbors to the south to work here legally. I don't demonize those who are here without legal documentation, nor do I think (and I have substantive facts to back it up) they are hurting our economy. They help more than harm our economy. So if you have a big stink about them being here without documentation then support avenues to allow them to work and live here legally.

like he said, invite them to live in your house, take your job, eat your food, and drive your car.

then you will have something to talk about.

The 5 million home foreclosures figure was pulled from the same place where his head is.

Troll harder. You know the facts, everyone else supports myths. Is it you BY? You used to be against illegal immigration.

I'm sure it varies among cities. Regarding buses, in my city it's all black folks... ditto the post office. Digging holes? Never paid attention to it. Fast food restaurants... at the counter I've seen what look to be white high school folks. I rarely eat fast food though.

Honestly, while I don't wish ill will upon anyone, I really have no compassion for a white male or female stuck working a minimum wage job or trying to compete with blacks or hispanics for those type of jobs. White folks have it so much easier in this world. If one doesn't have the common sense to go get an education to better himself then it should be that person that suffers the consequences. Student loans are available to everyone. If someone didn't do well enough in high school to get accepted into a university, it's their own problem... not the government's problem and not the US tax payers problem. The reason I appear to be so in favor of hispanics over whites (even though I myself am 100% white) is because hispanics do a much better job at hard labor positions, are more passionate and appreciative of the job, and have more loyalty. As for fast food, I really could care less who hands me the bag of food... but it is a shame that any white would have to work for minimum wage. It simply means they are an underachiever or did not see the benefit of a college education. Thus in my book, it is they who should suffer the consequence and it's that type of person that it sickens me to know that my taxes pay for their free social handouts. I'd prefer my tax $$$ going to an illegal alien any day of the week over any USC that didn't or doesn't have the willpower to go help himself/herself. As I've stated though, social programs should just be done away with for everyone, legal or illegal anyhow.

First, sorry, I accidentally +1'd this post. :P

Secondly... A lot of people are earning minimum wage while they are at college. It's hard to find a job with flexible hours, part-time/weekend, when you don't have a degree yet, that isn't minimum wage. Third... who knows what someone's circumstances are? When I worked retail I worked alongside a lady who had been out of the workforce for fifteen years (raising children). Although she'd had a high-paying position in an office previously, she'd been out of the workforce for so long that retail jobs were about all she could get. And who cares? She worked really hard at her job and it was her own money she was earning.
