Hahahaha!!! Have you actually seen the inside of an ICE facility? Have you ever spoken to anyone who has ever been inside an ICE facility. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Regarding the general public not being really educated about the impact of illegal immigration... you are exactly right! Include yourself in that group. The US would go belly up if we deported all the illegal aliens. Start doing the research, learn the facts, understand the consequences. I'm no illegal lover. I just feel everyone should be given a fair shake and I am against treating ANYONE anywhere in the world poorly. Life's too short to have enemies. Worry about your own life, but if you want to help others and/or the future of your country learn the pros and cons about having illegals in the US and then post your thoughts. It's funny that you state that people don't know the negative impact when you yourself know nothing about the positive impacts and the consequences of not having illegals in this country. hmmmm... how many politicians really want them gone? hmmm... how long have we been a nation full of illegal immigrants? While I think recent and past administrations have had serious flaws in the way they run the country, one thing is certain... none of them want illegals booted out of the country. There is a reason they all feel that way, perhaps you should research why?... and it has nothing to do with getting their vote because under no amnesty giving them the ability to go through the process to become a LPR and then a citizen would any of them be voting anyhow in less than 4 years.

They know if they get caught nothing specials happens, they get free food and boarding, most of them see insides of a plane for the first time if they get lucky and are being flown out of the US...

I mean no disrespect to illegals, I don't believe in DREAM Act but I believe it is better for them government to let them stay and have their "pathway to legalization" by FINING them, not giving them "incentives" that would lure more people to come illegally.

On the other part of the world, there are many abandoned children of US citizens (not as many as illegals though and their mostly products of political and military situations) yet for most part, even if they have enough evidence to prove that their fathers are US citizens and some want even to make it up and claim their children, yet no relief or even just "special visa" for them to come to the US. Don't talk to me about I-130. For someone above 21, it takes 10-20 years to get a visa. The parent-petitioner could have been long dead before approval of visa.

But then, even "immigration reform" groups leave out these people in their "immigration reform" advocacy. Nonetheless, it is a dirty secret that the US government intends to sweep under the rag...forever

I think the US is the only country that would give incentives to illegals (not limited to Hispanics, a lot of Asians overstay their visas! So don't make it a "race" issue) but forgets their "half children". Nice.

I can see the VJ FB pro illegal immigration crowd is hard at it tonight. How ironic, to be an active member of a legal immigration site, yet be pro illegal immigration. If that's not irony I don't know what is.

This makes absolute perfect sense! Fine them, require new driver's licenses for them, all the income with increased fines to properly go though the LPR process... can you imagine the revenues? No longer having to waste tax payers dollars on ICE facilities and holding a zillion illegals for months to years on end.

Incentives you mention? You are absolutly correct. How hard is it to say... no free health care for them, or no child tax credits for them, or no exemptions for each kid, etc. Heck do away with those things for all Americans as well as far as I'm concerned. All of it is just socialist non-sense. The IRS could even charge these folks an extra 1-2% in Fed income tax.

Finally someone who sounds like they really are against illegal immigration but looking for a solution where the US taxpayer signficantly benefits... and I mean significantly. If done right this could cut up to a trillion dollars off the national debt.... and folks are crying that illegals are taking their $15k/yr jobs and say the solution is deport them (which costs a heck of a lot of money)... not to mention all the legal-rangling that will occur when attorneys come out of the woodworks to stop deportations from occurring. It really would be a complete mess of the court system.

I applaud you for recognizing there are solutions. Unfortunately, most people just don't get it as they are simply looking for a scape-goat to blame for their own unhappiness and failures.

I wouldn't call myself Pro-Illegal Immigration under any circumstances. I call myself a rational human being that understands the impact and consequences of having both illegals in our country and kicking them out. I call myself a rational human being that understands that no one deserves to be treated like ####### regardless of where they come from or which side of a river they currently stand on. We're all humans in this world. People can complain all they want about how much an illegal can milk the system yada yada yada. That's not the illegals fault. That's the government's fault for letting them. So people should be pissed at their government, not 20 million people just trying to get by in life. I contemplate solutions and I have compassion for people... all people. That doesn't mean I help all people and it doesn't mean I don't have biases over one person or another. It simply means I personally do not like seeing people persecuted or treated poorly... nothing more, nothing less.

Ever since the civil war, this nation has forgotten "compromise".

Just people on their own wings.

But think practically. It will be as costly to give them incentives as is to deport them. Many countries with illegal problems give them amnesty but FINES them. No deportation but no incentives either.

Now, if the government will come up with this simple solution and now face its responsibilities on the half Americans they have forgotten. I'm not saying give the kids money, but at least allow them to have access to the US (after all, they will be the ones paying for the visa processing).
