What is SMART Core or ICE mean ?

Today I received an email from some one called SMART Core and in the subject line it says, "RE:Fiance Visa Application-ICE". It says that this SMART Core place or whoever they are sent ME & Lagos the email. Attached to the email is 2 documents. One titled, "Medical Examination" and the other titled, "Interview Prepatory Packet K1-K3".

These are my questions...

What is SMART Core?

What is ICE?

Does this mean that I and my fiance will soon be receiving an interview date?

ICE is Immigration and customs enforcement. The people who deport you.

I dont know who they are but i guess they are incharge of interview date and sending of packages. (Notifications in general.)

U will soon have ur interview date so do not panic. its good news.

That is who all the emails from Lagos come through, I would assume it is a database system. Usually an interview date is included with those emails. I would email them and ask for you date or call State Department, and ask them. If you do email make sure you don't reply to those, but use the regular email. I believe it is lagosIV@state.gov, you can check under the embassy information here. Congrats by the way!

If you look through the info sent very well there should be an interview date somewhere and also that is the company that sends out the info for Lagos...congrats and good luck the rest of the way

There was no interview date in the email. As a matter of fact, they did not even write anything in the email. There was simply a image of the DOS seal where writing would typically be then there was the two attachments. As far as emailing Lagos, well I have already done that 3 times and still have not gotten a reply. So much for the Consulate saying they reply to emails within 72 hours. And the last time I called the DOS to see if my case had been logged in Nigeria they advised me NOT to flood the Consulate with emails to be patient and call them, the DOS, instead so my name is not remembered at the Consulate in a negative way cause that may cause me & my fiance problems down the road.

smart is the sender of your email, i use to get mail from him too while i was going through my process, you can reply to the email address, i guess he must be a very nice peson because while i was going through my immigration process he reply real fast to all my emails. inshort u can reply to to smart and ask what ever info u need and u will get a reply to ur mail in a short while. all the best

Thank for your well wishes... I have now looked through the 2 documents/attachments they sent me and there was nothing addressed to me specifically. It is only the general/typical paperwork/directions/applications my fiance will need to use for the next stage in the process with the Consulate & the Medical Exam that I am sure everyone receives. I have already sent them an email asking who they are and if they are the ones that will be sending me the interview information and I plan on calling the DOS 1st thing in the morning since I have gotten this email today and seeing if there is any new information.

Just curious, did the State Department actually tell you that your name could be remembered in a negative way. or this was your impression? Let us know what they say there. I think there was just a mistake in your email, because usually the blank page is a note which is the invitation to the interview.

If you already sent emails I will advice u to waite. The interview date surppose to be in the body of that email. may be one more to smith cole and the lagosiv one

That is a software that US Embassy at Lagos us to send emails out...it means nothing..just to inform you what to prepare for your up-coming interview because they have received your package from NVC...so you will be expecting an interview date soon...just do with the ask you...medical and police certificate.

wish ya the best...and since you are going to the Lagos embassy...try to go with call log, emails from both of u and remember dates..infact study the interview sample from VJ...wish ya the best

Just curious, did the State Department actually tell you that your name could be remembered in a negative way. or this was your impression? Let us know what they say there. I think there was just a mistake in your email, because usually the blank page is a note which is the invitation to the interview.

Yes, when I informed the agent that answered the phone at the DOS number, 202 663-1225, that I had already sent 3 email messages to the Nigerian Consulate trying to find out if they had at least received my information from the NVC... She then told me that I should not worry my application was not lost, they simply had not logged it yet in Nigeria, that I would hear from them when they did have it and she then proceeded to tell me that I should not try and bombard them (Consulate) with emails cause it may cause me & my fiance problems down the road if they (Consulate) remember our name in a negative way she then went on to tell me that I can call them (DOS) as much as I like... 5 times a day if I want and when my information was received and logged in Nigeria they would know.

Also, last night I went over the email and ALL attachments and there was no information about an Interview... However, I called this morning and found out from the DOS that my finace interview has been set for December 16th.

Hey! Thanks for the well wishes... I am already working on trying to get emails, phone logs/chats & photos together cause I dont want there to be a delay cause they say we dont have enough "Proof". Can you tell me where is the Interview samples located here... I am sooo never here & even newer to discussion boards and sometimes find myself having a hard time even being able to access my messenger box through VJ... Thanks for any further guidance you can give me

Done... Thanks so much! After going back and reading my last post to you I feel like an idiot cause I meant to put I am So New here & to discussion boards NOT that I am So Never here ... lol!
