Spousal visas are not the same as K-1s.

Yours is given to you and these people have waited months without being able to book anything.

I'm happy for you all, but at the same time I'm just in agony. I want to book my appointment too!!!! but I just sent off my packet 3 :( My petition expires in January, and I pray to God that when I receive notice of my packet 4 being sent, I hope I get something in December at the latest.

Good luck to all of you at your interviews. *fingers crossed*

Me Too for the same time. I guess they have multiple interviewers.

They have 2 interviewers for the K-1s

She did. :)

Good.

I had seen another post by someone who heard that there are no visas available for Canadians and thats why its taking so long for them to be able to book K-1s which I don't know how true that is. But it was posted on VJ by someone.

lol, ya but the process for CR-1 is usually much longer!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Congrats to everyone who finally got an interview date!!!

Montreal automatically extends your petition when you schedule an interview, by the way. If you schedule your interview in January or later it's completely fine :) My original interview date (and that of many others) was beyond my petition expiration date and it didn't cause problems.

Also make sure to call DoS to ask if packet 4 has been logged- you don't have to wait for it to physically arrive in the mail. As soon as DoS says packet 4 has been logged you can schedule your interview. :)

Oh That's Really good to know! Thanks Pocheros! Yeah I just sent out my packet 3 today, priority mail, so it should be arriving tomorrow also instructed that it be signed upon delivery.

I'll have to wait a week or so, but I'll probably start calling DOS on Tuesday, so anxious!

There were lots earlier, but I chose December 9, 8am since it fit in my schedule better. Anyone else?!

Did you see any dates in December that come close to Christmas holidays like December 23rd? and anything After Christmas? Has anyone seen that? Reason why I ask is I know some government offices be taking the longest two week Christmas holiday break, I wonder if they do that there?
