WOW!!!! I got an email and text last night and states I got APPROVED!!!

had to read it like six times.... I've been waiting about a year for this to be approve.

and the day finally came!!! now how do I check if and when NVC will get it

and what other fees I have to pay??? my wife is from vietnam......

congrats :D you need to wait few days (1 or 2 ) so the nvc receive your file and 2 to 3 weeks to get the nvc case number after that you can start paying the fees :P

November 7 2011 IV package received by the NVC

November 9 2011 Case completed --waiting for the interview date

Congrats! But why did it take over a year for your petition to get approved? What RFE were they looking for?

get immigrant visa
get ssn card and green card
get employment authorization - not required
file I-751, petition to remove the conditions of residence (before 2nd year expires upon entry)
become a US citizen
