Hello. How are you doing? You should have your wife come on to this website to gather information and ask questions also. She will have to gather much of relationship evidence on her end and of course that you gather relationship evidence too. There's a lot of information here on Visajourney. You can also lookin the "GUIDES" Section at the top of this page under CR-1 Visa. I see you put yourself down as K-3 Visa, but that does not exist anymore. It would be CR-1 Visa. This is why you should have you wife come on here since she made the original petition. Also it will be good for you both to know what steps you need to do next in your immigration process. Good Luck.

I think it is enough to provide the marriage certificate. But certainly bring photos if you can. My wife and I are not the type to take photos of us so we only have about six! But I'm not worried. We are legally married. Unless there's another reason for a yellow or red flag, it is not the same as having to prove a relationship like a fiance visa. I have also read on this site that other couples only provided their marriage certificate and they got their visa. But bring "more evidence" if it will make you feel better. You never know, right?

This can lead to disaster and a Denial. Just because you have a real marriage doesn't mean that the Consulate will believe it. The burden of proof is on you. Please be careful with posting this type of advice because this misinformation can ruin someones chances of getting their Visa to be with their wife/husband. That would be devastating.

Whoa! Careful there with the misinformation. An I-130 filing and a visa application (the interview stage) both require you present evidence of a bona fide marriage. A marriage certificate does not prove a bona fide marriage. Get ready to show some primary evidence of co-mingling your lives. That applies to you too, Jason. You don't want to end up in AP or with a denial.

Review page 3 of the I-130 instructions http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-130instr.pdf

Your consulate instructions will also ask for evidence of a bona fide marriage relationship for your interview. This goes beyond photographs, which are considered secondary evidence of a relationship.

So does that mean even when you've been married for over 2 years you need to show the evidence that this is not a fake marriage?

n btw it won't matter if your married 1 month or 20 yrs they will expect to see some kind of relationship information regarding everything i just posted... otherwise you will either get a request to submit taking more time to issue visa or a flat out denial and the case sent back. Ive never seen anyone issue just a marriage certificate and get a visa... there is a lot more info the CO expects to see.

From Instructions for form I-130:

OR Your husband or wife has lived outside of the United States, after the marriage for a period of at least 2 years.

I just mailed in my marriage cert. (been married 3 1/2 years) with my I-130 and copies of all my UK visas and both of our passport pages and we were approved.

Her husband is in the United States Air Force and from what I understand, has lived out of the US for a length of 2 years.

Im not talking about the i130 im talking about the Visa approval at the embassy... as I mentioned the CO... which is embassy level will want to see all of this to bring it all save it all print it all so the marriage can be validated at the embassy level

and some countries DO need to see front loaded evidence of the marriage at the time they submit the i130 or they will get plenty RFE for it..

Well, we'll be doing the DCF and I sent out a few questions to the Embassy and they said since we live together since we are married ( and before) and we don't really have like chats or phone records, it is not neccessary but I guess it is needed then.

each embassy is diff but you have lease agreements and prob bank records that ur together that makes it eaiser to prove your marriage is genuine but for those that arent living together yet it makes it more difficult to prove bcos the embassy wants to see clear evidence of a genuine marriage so all those things i mentioned are needed at the interview for ppl not filing dcf
