I can see a problem in the future. When it comes to getting my fiance's police records. I know that we will need them as far back as age 16. She was a military brat. She and her family lived in a Russian military village on Kurl Islands, a border zone with no police. Help

Maybe you can inquire about this in any police station in the town or city that was adjacent to her place. They may have maintained records of your Fiance's village. Where is your fiance currently staying?

She lives on the outskirts of Moscow

MVD checks entire record for all the places as long it is within Russian Federation (which is the case). Just try to get it now as it is valid for one year to make sure you do not encounter any unexpected events.

I agree. The Main Information Center of MVD is located by metro Noviye Cheremushki (there's an address on U.S. Embassy's website, believe it or not). She can file an inquiry there and they are obliged to provide her with info. Now, since she lived in a military town, checking records may take a while (as in: a few months), so she'd better apply now.

She should google their phone number and call them first, to save a trip during wrong hours.

Good luck!
