I have a few questions about the I-134. Do you think I should anticipate an problems for my Thai fiance's visa application. I am currently working as a contractor in a reputable company for six months in a temp to perm situation. So while it is promising it is still a temporary position. My salary for the last 7 years has been more than the minimum required by the USCIS for the K-1 visa. I have some money in savings. I do not anticipate any problems in solely supporting my fiance until she is comfortable in the US and also starts working in the future.

I just got my NOA2 last week and am now preparing for the next steps. Will the visa petition get rejected because I do not have a permanent position? Any thoughts or advice will me much appreciated.

Thanks!

What is important is your income at the time of the interview. The 134 will include that info. I dont recall them asking if people are employed as temps. Employed is employed unless you tell them otherwise. You should include tax transcripts for the last 3 years. This helps establish your income history & shows you have no tax liability.

You as the USC wont be asked to explain your employment situation in person. They only have what you submit. Your position could be seen the same as many others. My husband worked at a company for 6 years where they were required to sign a statement saying it was understood there was no promise of employment beyond the week that they were working in. He wasnt asked & at that time the USC was allowed inside the embassy so he was standing right there.

Once u your fiancee has an interview date scheduled. Go to your temp agency or whomever is paying you to draft a letter of employment stating your income, start date and your title. This document is required anyway as part as this application.. Shouldn't be a problem if temp or full time. As long you are lawfully employed and provide letter of employment, you should be fine.
