Girlfriend's mom in Vietnam issued a tourist visa

I think I may just be too paranoid at time when it comes to HCMC. My GF's mom was issued a tourist visa to the USA to visit her relatives. She was denied a tourist visa once before because she didn't have the proper docs. However this time she got all the documentation in order (took a long time!) and was issued a visa.

Despite what some posters have stated before, she has no intention of overstaying the visa. She just wants to visit her family. I'm glad to see the HCMC consulate agreed.

if she was approved for the visa.. whats the problem?!

that she might get denied at the Port of Entry?

10/20/2013...... Green Card approved! NOA hardcopy received!

10/31/2013...... Green Card Delivered!!

07/24/15 I-751 Mailed to Cali. Service Center
09/03/15 Biometeric scheduled and completed

01/26/16 ROC Letter arrived
01/30/16 10 yr Green Card arrived

No worries about being denied at POE. It's just that HCMC has a reputation for being very tough on any kind of visas for Vietnamese. I was worried earlier that since her mom got denied once before for a tourist visa that this might have a negative effect if I marry my GF and go through the HCMC consulate. I think I was just too paranoid.

for the tourist it depends on having the required evidence of ties to VN that show the visit is just a visit... and having a reasonable CO..

Her Mom being approved for a tourist visa should have no bearing or effect on your own K1/CR1 application. But if her Mom overstays in the US I'm sure there will be repercussions for you.

My fiancee's parents have been to the US many times, including that one time when they called me to a cafe in Little Saigon to forbid me from seeing their 40 year old daughter... :whistle:

Don't let the paranoia get to you though.
