They are usually valid 6 months, but check the expiration date printed on the visa, as it may be less, especially if she had her medical a while ago.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

My mother is scheduled for an immigrant visa interview on Nov 9,2011. My question is, if she gets approved when will the visa expire?

Hello,i think i have the same situation for these,im just ask if your mom visa the same date expiration of her medical?im worry also,since medical expires these april 13,2012 and i dont get it yet my visa,so im kinda worry since i have only 2 weeks now before my medical expires and thats why im asking if its realy true visa expires depend on medical expiration.

If your visa is not issued by April 13, you will need to get a new medical exam before the visa can be issued. You must have a valid medical for the visa to be issued.
