Going to file I751, but no evidence (real marriage), any suggestions?

One week before my GC interview, I was issued an Order of Protection(for 2 years), because I called the police after my husband pushed me when he was drunk one night. that means my husband cannot contact me or be near me for 2 years. We got the permission to meet on the day of my GC interview. And I was able to get the 2-year conditional card.

My question is, during this 2 years, me and my husband dont live together, dont contact, but not divorced. I can't provide any evidence like, bank account, tax return or bills for I-751, except some old photos. what should I do to remove the card condition?

ps, we dont want to get a divorce, our marriage is for real. Also I dont want to file under 'battered' (unless someone suggest divorce or battered is a better way just to get over with the process)

Many thanks

why not have the protection order rescinded a year ago?

lifting conditions is mostly about proving up that yer a married couple, with evidence to support that.

You don't have that evidence.

Unsure what to tell you, really.

When does the 2 year protection order expire? It sounds like it was put in place before your conditional GC interview, which means that it would expire before you would file for removal of conditions. A two year order of protection sounds rather extreme for a simple case of "he pushed me one night when he was drunk"....especially if both parties are willing to work on the marriage, but I'm not familiar with the laws of your state.

Sorry, but why would you get a restraining order against someone you loved and desire to have a real marriage and life with?

Why would you call the cops??

If you really wanted to be with this person, you could have gotten the restraining order dismissed.

This sounds fishy.

It also sounds like the typical "I'll dupe a man to marry me for a US GC, then claim abuse as soon as I land in the US." Maybe I'm wrong.

bonbon,

I have to agree with you. Since you cannot prove that you lived together with your husband if you did not live together with your husband and are not divorced from your husband, you have no way of successfully removing conditions.

Best of luck to you nonetheless.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

If your marriage is for real, why did you not live together during the past 2 years? No contact? Why didn't you co-mingle bank accounts/tax returns/bills etc? I'm sorry, but something smells fishy.

Hmmm sounds like my husband got here in the USA didnt waste no time to call single chat lines

in 2 wks of living here, caught a used condom in my house and the first thing he does well days later he calls the cops on me reporting abuse then the negro got the nerve to say i burned him on his hand WOW  who does stuff like that??

Yall fake fraud forgein people that only out to use us Americans to live here in our beautiful country!

Yes this indeed smell fraud all over it and the way you are going you will be deported in 2 years! your husband is a fool to go with you to get your gc in the first place! too bad my husband already had his, he would've been deported asap!

So sad if u guys only knew how stressful img is, how much money it cost and for yall to come here and commit fraud against is heartless!!

You sound like a heartless person to!

My husband is hiding somewhere and is very embarrassed that he tried to play within wks of arriving here in the US! he knows in 2 years his #### is gas aka deported so he better enjoy getting his butt plugged in the next 2 years because those rasta in Jamaica do not play that!

It's obvious you're upset about your situation, I get that-we get that, but don't you think you're being harsh to the Op? There aren't many details other than what the Op posted, you can't say "your husband is a fool' or "you will be deported in 2 years!"

Your anger should be toned down a bit so you can focus on fixing your problem, not used to lash out against the Op here. She's merely seeking feedback for her situation, just as you sought advice about your situation.

Best wishes...
