6 months since NOA1 plus an RFE - what now?

As of today, they received the I-129F 6 months ago. They had sent an RFE which I quickly replied to, and they received that 5 weeks ago as of yesterday. I know they say it can take up to "60 days" to respond to RFE even though everyone else's RFE's seem to have been responded to earlier than mine!

So, should I go "do anything" now, or do I have to wait for the 60 days before I can start raising some kind of fuss?

I'm very unhappy about all this. First, it took longer than normal to send me an RFE, and it was for a divorce decree that I HAD ALREADY SENT THEM in the petition. But, I sent it again, and a lot more - everything about the divorce. Now most people seem to have their RFE's responded to in 2-4 weeks from what I can tell. Why am I 5? Is this all because the ex-wife was also a K1 visa? We were married 10 years though... it really is not likely that I'd have a devious plan to be married for 10 years so that I can get a tiny amount of bribe money from ex-wife. (Lousy fictitious plan anyway... I had to give her $30,000 in the divorce plus the hundreds of thousands I spent on her over the years.) I earn plenty of money... a girl from a poor country can't pay me enough to do a fake marriage. Ugh...

I hear you. I have a feeling i am going to get one too. We thought the divorce decree is just 10ages because thats what just the lawyers office gave us, when checking with the clerk countys office, we found out its actually 22pages. We will get an RFE for the missing pages of that divorce decree..ughhh!

Why you are asked to resend the divorce decree? Missing pages? No seal, no judges signature?

Are you receiving electronic notification? Did u sing up for G1145, maybe you already got NOA2, who knows?

Im sorry to hear that u still waiting. I would call uscis and put in a service request based on ur original filing date. Its been 4 weeks since they received my RFE back. I called yesterday to put in service request. They told me to tgat VSC was working on may 1st files and to call back october 14 and they will put in service request. You can also call and see if they put in service request based on original filing date. I sure will call next week. It will be 5 months and 2 weeks since I filed. Good luck.

I originally had sent them a copy of the one page divorce decree (with stamp) that the court sends when you pay them $20. They said photocopies were fine, so that's what I sent. And, it was the "divorce decree" as they said they wanted. The RFE said they wanted the "divorce decree" but didn't elaborate about what they really wanted since I had sent them a divorce decree. So, this time I sent them every document with the original stamps; I hope that satisfies them. I also included other stuff like copy of marriage certificate and lawyer's bill to prove I paid someone for this, and the quitclaim deed to prove she transferred ownership of house fully to me.

I had signed up for electronic notification and got one for the NOA1 but not RFE... not sure which events get an email sent.

So, how do I put in a "service request" exactly?

Boy I hear ya loud and clear. They also sent us the infamous RFE 5 months to the day of filing. And again it was to do with a stupid divorce certificate, even though all the needed info was there in the final order. Now it will take 4 weeks (already made it through 2) for it to arrive before it can be couriered to them. then the waiting for NOA2 and so on and so on and so on. Some days I just want to scream at the top of my lungs, but most days I don't want to see anyone because I'm tired of explaining the same thing over and over again. I had a little venting to do today as well.

thanks

Terri

You have to wait 4 weeks for a divorce certificate to arrive? Yuck! Whatever for? My local court mails them out very quickly once you figure out what the "trick" is (letter to the "copy office" with the fee), but it was very confusing what was really wanted from VSC, so I took the train down to the court office and chatted with them in person. I hate calling... much prefer speaking to an actual human in front of me.

I recieved an RFE too for my divorce decree (although this was due to my oversight and accidentally sending them the petition by mistake) BUT it has been 2 1/2 weeks since they noted that they had recieved my response. I was getting frustrated because as I look at other's timelines they have a two or three day turnaround until they received their NOA2. So why is mine taking longer? :( No sense in asking the question I guess becasue there is no answer. :(

Good Luck! You're not alone!

What number do you call? I call 866-315-5718 and can never talk to a person! I only get that computer telling me automated messages... Do you have another number that I can call where I can actually speak to someone?
