Hello VJers~

Hypothetical question here: If one has an appointment in Montreal and has to cancel at the last minute, do they have to wait the same amount of time to reschedule? It is taking months just to get one as it is. Just curious.

Pretty much. I had to cancel my original appointment as I had surgery scheduled like, 2 days beforehand. I would still have been in the hospital at the time of my interview!

I had no problem booking my first appointment. I got it on my first try, but when I rescheduled it took about a week of me constantly refreshing the screen to find an appointment. I managed to snap a closer appointment (a month and a half closer) which worked fine for me!

I know with the CR-1, they seem to go back to the bottom of the pile! And seeing how is taking you k1'ers to book an interview, 1 would be advised to do as much as you possibly can, so u don't have to reschedule! Maybe in the email that you send to cancel, one could ask for another date!! 1 can always ask, the answer is already a no, if u don't ask!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Sherrybaby:

May I ask when you successfully booked your 2nd appoinment?

I have been refreshing for 2 weeks for many times, but no availibility.

thanks.
