Hello-

Can someone with experience with Sheria law in Jordan tell us how to get a "final" divorce decree from a divorce in Jordan? My finace is divorce but we got an RFE stating that they need something that says final. What kind of document would satisfy USCIS?

Thanks!

Just to give u an idea, I came from Kuwait, I also got an RFE asked for a judge signature. Since I have my own original copy, I presented them in the ministry so it was easy it get it signed.

If you have not done so already you need to go to the Shariah court in the same district he got divorced and get a certified copy which means they will make a copy of the original and then have them stamp it with their stamp and have the qadi (Judge) sign it. Do not make a copy of it, also maybe have them write in arabic on the paper that this is an excerpt of the original document. Then translate it if you wish, into English. My wife did this for our NVC paperwork. They originally rejected it from us but I sent them an email stating it was for the shariah court the only issuing authority of divorce decrees and they finally accepted it without further documentation. Good luck

Thanks!

Actually, Hani went to Aqaba, to the original court and they wrote on the back of the divorce, that the "waiting period" was over and he did not take his ex wife back, then they stamped it. Hani wasnt satisfied with that, so he went to the civiliaan dept and talked them into issuing a "certificate" of divorce. So I am going to send the handwriting on with the stamp and the certificate, along with english translations back to VSC. This has to satisfy them....I hope.

Thanks!
