My husband and I have been married for less than a year. He has been approved for his visa and will be flying in 9 days!! :dance: :dance: His visa states it expires March 15th, 2012. :blink: Does that means he receives a new visa with a different expiration date once he enters the US?? :help:

Also I have heard that his green card will expire in 2 years...is this true?? If so, does he have to re-apply for his green card and when does applying for citizenship come in affect?

Marriage: 12-27-2010

I-130 Sent: 01-10-2011

I-130 NOA1: 01-14-2011

Off to DR for 2 months to be with my hubby: 04-20-2011

I-130 Approved: 05-06-2011

Received DS-3032 / I-864 Bill: 06-20-2011

Back from my wonderful vacation: 06-22-2011

Pay I-864 Bill: 06-27-2011

Return Completed I-864 : 07-01-2011

Return Completed DS-3032: 07-01-2011

Pay IV Bill: 07-14-2011

Case Completed at NVC: 07-20-2011

No he doesn't get another visa. You should have looked at the guides and read more information on things for the process!!!!

He gets a GREEN CARD after entry in a few months. Then you need to look at the EXPIRATION DATE on the green card!! If he gets a 2 year you need to REMOVE CONDITIONS before it expires. He can apply for citizenship 3 years from the date on the green card.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Congrats on getting the Visa. :thumbs: I think that the visa says March because he has about six months to leave DR. Regarding green card, yep is only two years after that I think he gets the 10 year one. I don't know about citizenship :whistle: .

They give him six months to leave DR and come to U.S.A. If he lets this time pass and does not use the visa, I'm pretty sure it is revoked. The green card will expire in two years, and then you have to remove conditions (more paperwork) and he will then get a 10 year green card. He is elegible to become a citizen in 3 years. I hope that helps!

Congrats. The visa is valid for 6 months meaning he has 6 months to come to US and since he will be flying in in 9 days, it is of no concern.

At port of entry, he will get a 551 stamp on his passport, which is the temporary Green Card valid for 1 year. The conditional Green card will be received in a month or two and is valid for 2 years. Around 3 months before the expiry of the 2 years period, you will have to apply to get the condition removed to get a regular Green Card (valid for 10 years).

And around 3 months before the 3 years of permanent residency, he can apply for Citizenship.

01/08/13 - Approved and GC is order for production on 1/8/14

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/05/13 - NOA1 (received on 08/10/13)

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)

No problem - his passport is always going to be with him till he becomes a US Citizen (when he becomes a US Citizen, he will have to get a US Passport). And all he needs is the Green card to travel back and forth.
