I am quite sure that referencing the 419 law in regards to a scam or in regards to the country that originated the 419 law is not racism.

racism: every nigerian is a scammer

not racism: every single internet email scam that I know of or have read of originates or originated in nigeria

I am however starting to see the thread of intolerance for the beliefs or words of others that is rampant in such countries poisoning this board. I now have concern that I may be hacked to little pieces (along with family and children) over this by an angry mob LOL

Redneck jokes are funny. Jeff Foxworthy has hundreds of them

These guys are funny and they represent the group that they laugh at. What's not tolerated is your sudden need to e-police speech on the internet.

The difference here is that Chris Rock is black; Alex Raymondo is Hispanic; and Jeff Foxworthy is proudly a redneck. Just like it is ok for Americans to talk bad about our country (but God help anyone else who does), it is ok for other nationalities to talk bad about their own country (but God help anyone else who does). As an American-Nigerian, I find the previous remarks hurtful & distasteful. I personally an tired of people on this board talking down to those of us who are with Nigerians or are Nigerian. I would never dream of saying negative things about your country, I haven't even been there. Have you been to Nigeria? I am tired of people thinking it is acceptable to bash my other country, because there are a few bad apples in the bushel. There are a few bad apples in every bushel. No one said you are racist, I said your wrong for bashing a whole country because of a few bad people. In my eyes that is the third cousin to racism. A distant cousin, but a cousin none the less.

I find the emails from princes and stranded travellers distasteful (though humorous and they certainly earn a nod for cleverness).

Nobody bashed your "other country". Only the scams that originate from it. Are you now saying that the scam-bashing covers the whole country? That sort of could be interpreted as validation of the original point. Just sayin'. That would leave out all the other wonderful things there, like the 100 christians hacked to death last month for their religious beliefs. You are right we should be fair here.

Nobody made a correlation between race and scams either. For all I know, the (dope-smoking) Dutch who are over there extracting the oil are the source of these scams. You and only you are the one who tied the scams to race. Are you implying that there is a correlation between scams and race? Some races are better at scamming than others? That's an out and out twin sibling to racism and I will defend my race and declare that caucasions can scam people just as good as anyone else and I find it distasteful if anything else is implied. Now, on the subject of copying stuff? A nod to asia on that. Definitely superior.

As to going there I got offered a job once. Didn't take it. Too many dam (dope-smoking) dutch.

There are many people from many coutries on this board and many of the Americans lived in 2, 3, or more of them. Every country I have been to has some advantages and some deficiencies relative to mine. Some are very, very humorous. I also get full and complete feed back on our own (US) deficiencies.

A suggestion is this-learn to suck it up. It works for me. If you dont like free speech go back to your "second country" where if you are good enough and tough enough you can still get to hack people up for saying or believing what you dont like to hear.

Sadly, the objective of what this site stands for seems lost. NO need for insults, racism, sarcasm or unnecessary hostile answers.

It would be deeply appreciated if, we can get back to what VJ truly stands for, instead of asking members to take the stick out of their behinds.

Use that energy to solve problems which petitioners and beneficiaries face REGARDLESS of country of origin, the color of their skin, the language they speak or what is their religion. Be a better person!
