Hi Everyone

I am traveling to the Philippines in Dec for 31 days..... Can I get a visa ahaead of time r do i need to get it when i arrive??

Thanks for any help

You can visit the Philippines for 21 days simply by presenting your passport when you arrive there. However, since you are staying for 31 days, you will need to get an extension. I believe the extension allows you to stay for another 38 days, for a total of 59 days. I don't know if you can get an extension in advance, and I don't know where you get extensions once you are in the Philippines. I hope someone will chime in on this issue.

You may apply for a visa at any of the Philippine Embassy closest to your place. A single-entry visa valid for 3 months costs $30.00. Here’s the link for more info.

I strongly recommend that you apply for the visa prior to going to the Philippines because it costs more to get an extension (I think we paid around $100), not to mention the hassle of going to the office of the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and dealing with some corrupt staff.
