i had an interview on Sep 20th for a K1 visa, i was told its approved and i should be getting the passport in 10 days but its been 21 days and i havent received it yet, the lady also said i have to leave cairo before Nov 3rd (thats when my medical expires)

and btw am a female, so my question is how long could it take to get the passport and can i still go under AP even tho it was approved and they have my passport?

thanks in advance for ur help

From everything you wrote, sounds like you were approved. I have only seen a few posts in the past where AP took place after a person was told they were approved and the visa was kept. Sometimes it just takes a little while. You can call DOS or the embassy and try to find out what is going on. Don't worry though.

You need to call them immediately. I had issues with DHL and my persistence made them track down where the paperwork was. So, call them and ask.

Don't ever do anything you're not willing to explain the paramedics.

cairo embassy is notorious for saying approved, taking the passport, saying 10 days or in our case 2 weeks then putting you under ap without even notifying you.

yes NY_BX is correct dhl is a disaster here and many have had their passports delivered after the expiration date and i strongly urge u to contact dhl and keep tabs on them till the time comes for your visa

yeah i realized later that my post was late as for your tracking number i am not sure if the embassy will give you that information or not we got ours when we paid for it. Inshallah everything will be ok!! :)

btw i do believe that you can make contact with the embassy dhl and tell them your case number and if they have it make arrangements then
